Overall, I think the ST-66 is great!
I bought the Silver version and i must admit, it looks cool. With its shiny exterior ( hard to scratch!), bright blue light and matching clear headphones with the pearl white remote as well as the stylish pearl stand -Perfection!
The Stand - It keeps your ST66 propped upright, which is quite convenient as you can tell if the battery is recharged when the light stops flashing...You can also keep the player in the stand to listen to songs using electricity from the wall.
The remote and headphones - It is backlit and has all the functions you need...you don't even have to use the buttons situated on the machine itself! The play/pause, fwd, rwd and the stop button are all sylishly put together, next to the screen. The volume buttons are put under the remote...right next to the hold switch. On the top is display (song name, length), play mode(random, rpt etc...), and my favourite - Sound. It has base 0,1,2 and 3, where it permanently sits at bass 3 on my ST66!! Attached to the remote, is the headphones with a clear tubing surrounding the wires...and u can see the many pretty colours of the wires within!
The machine itself - It's quiet and it loads fast. The silver play/fwd, rwd, stop and volume buttons sit on top and dont stick out, and u can also put them on hold...just in case you press them! The open button is also convenient, as you can eject your md whenever u want...even during play. When you load a disk, the MD even automatically plays. The disk ejection is also spring loaded.
Acessories - The ST-66 comes with a nice black bag, which uses a fluffy material, insulating it from bumps. It uses bubblegum battery, and also has an attachment for you to use a single AA battery, if required. The ST66 had a loop for a handstrap...but the handstrap isn't included...but u can buy one anywhere.
The ST66 is very light, not bulky at all and i think the whole machine is great...no flaws!

I took a veeeeeeeeery long time to decide which player to buy. In the end it came down to a choice between the ST-66 and the Sony MZ-E900. I decided on the ST-66 because of its lower price (much - I got it for US$188), its fantastic looks, the sound quality (Sharp players tend to be equal or better in sound quality to Sony ones), and the fact that it's very small and light. The MZ-E900 does looks great too and is tiny, but my stereo isn't MDLP, so that feature's useless to me, and although it has a lot of other whizzy features, they're not really thaaaat necessary. Looks wise, the paint finish is actually shiney which surprised me, but it's really durable and looks really nice (I got the white one). The blue LED in the middle lights up when you're pressing buttons etc. and flashes when charging until it's finished. The headphones have a really funky see-through cable (and the external battery case is see-through too!), and the remote is a really nice size - it seems a big compared to the unit, but it's very nice to use. Basically it looks great, is very small (only just bigger than a MD) and extremely light too. Sound wise it lives up to my expectations - it sounds great. I'd consider getting a better pair of headphones, but really it sounds ace with the ones it has. So, to recap I'm really pleased with it. It looks lovely, it's very small and portable and most importantly it has a brilliant sound... I don't see how I could fail to be pleased.
