Long lasting quality! Kickin Player!

Excellent player for the price. The MZ-R700 is simply an excellent quality player and very good value for the money. Small and light (just a bit larger than the MZ-R900). However there is no LCD on the remote, but if u simply wanna listen to some excellent quality music and don't really care about the name of the song or how much battery life is left, the remote supplied does everything u could ever want it to do. Everything is supplied in the box to get u started including an optical cable. With the battery supplied, the player lasts reasonably long, but with a 1300mAH NI-MH battery the player last forever, almost a quarter more than stated. The MDLP function is great and the quality is great in MDLP2 with great clarity in the treble and powerfull accurate bass, but once in MDLP4 the quality loss is slightly noticable as the bass gets slightly wooly and high frequencies seem to be lost. The Headphones sony supply are not satisfactory considering the price of the MD player. If u find the headphones comfortable then great, but if they keep dropping out your ears every few minutes, then you might as well buy some better ones, like some from the sony groove range which are pretty impressive. The player itself is slightly noisy, but u'll forget that once you've heard the player. With the new g-protection, the player doesn't miss a note, no matter how much you shake it, its incredible.
Overall a great player, great value for money, excellent looks, size and weight, but if your one of the unlucky people and the headphones aren't right for you then your gonna have to fork out more for some heaphones.
