The remote is great, although the cord seems like it would get shorted out, it never did in the 6 months that I had it.... you see, It just got stolen today, and I'm at this site looking for a new player,
this one served me well, although I do not reccommend it to anyone anymore, because JVC is not selling the replacement batteries. now, I would suggest a sony player using NC-W14m (I think thats the number).

only complaint is location of controls on the side other then that DURABLE/SEXY!
