Cool new minidisc player with surround

The smallest Unit I have (currently 3). I have a Sony and JVC/Victor unit as well. The unit flashes its lights on front when charging(multi colors)and stop when complete. I ordered the unit in black and was ammazed at how light it is. The sound (studio, live, dome) are the best. With the headphones so light and adding the surround it really is like not having headphones on at all. You feel like you are in a "live" setting. Thanks to Dolby for creating a surround mode that a minidisc manufacturer decided to carry, and Sharp for doing so. This is the first unit out of all electronics I have purchased (and there is too many)where the headphones really do sound great, and ammazingly light. 3 step bass sounds great with the combination sound fields. I listen to this unit more than my Yamaha receiver with surround! Only downfall may be that the volume could go higher with the surround modes on, and sometimes adding the bass boost to setting 3 can blast the bass where as ! more power to the sound would eliminate this. I had to crank the volume to 3(max)on some tracks in live mode. Even with not using the surround modes is better than most home systems. The remote is slick but advertising a 2 tone LCD screen is kind of stretching the truth as it is just the plastic that is tinted on the lower half of the screen. No regrets though! No need for better headphones (as I usually buy them) I even tried the new Sony silicone in ear, and the Sharp still sound better. I am a very very picky sound perfectionist and I believe I have found my match. No joke. Buy this unit. I went through micmic and payed $250 and received 5 blanks and priority shipping. So worth it. I received it in 4 days from Japan.
